CSA: SWD Cricket appoints Stephnie McKay as Youth Cricket Coordintor

Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

South Western Districts has appointed Ms Stephnie McKay as the new Youth Cricket Coordinator at the company.

McKay, who matriculated at Langenhoven Gymnasium in Oudtshoorn before she obtained a National Diploma in Sports Management at the Cape Town University of Technology, brings a wide variety of skills and expertise to the company.

She has provincial colors in biathlon, athletics, netball, lifesaving and swimming and has extensive experience in coaching various sporting codes and was involved in administration of various codes at provincial level.  She started as an interim at the Eden Districts Sports Academy in 2014 and concluded her career as the Academy Office Administrator/Manager when SWD Cricket recently concluded an agreement for the use of the gymnasium facilities with the academy.

“We are delighted to have Ms McKay in our staff component. She will be a big asset to our ambitious organization and will bring new blood to the youth cricket component at SWD Cricket”, said Gary Moos, the Cricket Services Manager of SWD Cricket. She took office on 1 August 2022.
