Given the importance of an education for young, aspiring cricketers, KZN Inland Cricket Union’s Tuskers Academy has partnered with eta College to offer tertiary opportunities for young Tuskers cricketers.

They have taken on the role as education partners of the academy and have offered players bursaries to study with the KZN branch of eta College.

“eta and its KZN campus is delighted to announce its partnership with the Tuskers Cricket Team, aimed at providing enhanced higher education opportunities for both players and staff,” Regional Director of eta College Kavish Gajoo said.

“This collaboration underscores eta’s commitment to supporting the holistic development of athletes, recognizing the importance of preparing individuals for life beyond cricket.

“At eta, we recognize the importance of providing athletes with avenues for continued learning and personal growth. Together with the Tuskers, we are dedicated to equipping players and staff with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed beyond their cricketing careers.

The partnership between eta and the Tuskers Cricket Team represents a significant step forward in supporting athletes’ educational aspirations while fostering a culture of lifelong learning and well-being within the sporting community.”

For CEO of the KwaZulu-Natal Inland Cricket Union Jason Sathiaseelan this partnership will open plenty more doors for the young players outside of cricket.

“We are indeed delighted to secure this partnership with a leading college in eta. As we continue to strive to retain talent in our region, this will be a huge boost to our academy curriculum,” Sathiaseelan said.

“eta College offers internationally benchmarked fitness, coaching science, and sports management degrees, diplomas and certificates as well as short courses and specialisations. These courses will certainly inspire our budding cricketers as we continue to promote dual career opportunities.

“We want to thank Mr Kavish Gajoo and his team for affording us this wonderful opportunity which will enhance our academy program.”

As the Betway SA20 nears a conclusion, the CSA 4-Day Domestic Series will return next week with the AET Tuskers taking on the Momentum Multiply Titans at the AET Pietermaritzburg Oval.
