The men in charge on the two exciting teams are anticipating an exhilarating series when West Indies face Pakistan in the Osaka Presents PSO Carient T20 Cup. The two sides will face off in the opening T20 International on Wednesday morning at the historic Kensington Oval in Barbados. First ball is 10am (9am Jamaica/5pm Pakistan). West Indies Head Coach, Phil Simmons, and his opposite number Misbah ul-Haq of Pakistan, agreed that the flamboyant way their teams play should lead to a series full of non-stop action.

They were speaking at the launch of the Osaka Presents PSO Carient T20 Cup, which was done via Zoom meeting on Tuesday. Also in attendance were representatives of the sponsors – Mian Muhammad Usman, chief marketing and innovation officer, Pakistan State Oil; as well as Mustafa bin Tulha, director of Osaka Batteries. They offered best wishes to both camps and expressed their great delighted to be associated with West Indies Cricket.

Misbah said:

“Cricket between Pakistan and West Indies is always exciting, and we expect this series to be much of the same. We have some really great players in our camp and the West Indies have some great players as well. These four matches will be great for the fans. We have to play top-quality against them. I think, we need to be right up there, at our best, when we play against West Indies.”

Simmons said:

“As Misbah said, West Indies and Pakistan and two very competitive teams and we can expect a very competitive series. Right now, we see it that we have four games against one of the toughest team in the world. We are looking forced to see where we are. If we gel well, we are very hard to beat, so that is what I’m looking at before this final series before we go into the T20 World Cup.”

The teams will be using this four-match series as part of their build-up to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup due to be played in the UAE and Oman from October 17 to November 14. West Indies, the reigning world champions have won the ICC T20 World Cup twice under the captaincy of Daren Sammy – 2012 when they beat Sri Lanka at the Premadasa in n Colombo and 2016 when they had a sensational win over England at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
