Like a star student completing his homework in record time, Lendl hastened to a hot 91* in the 3rd T20I to help lead WI to a 9-wicket victory against Ireland earlier this year. This was just days before his 35th birthday and his career best T20I score.
He blasted 10 mesmerizing sixes much to the frustration of the Irish bowlers. And if those flurry of sixes weren’t enough, Lendl made it look like he was chipping down the street to a groovy soca beat on J’Ouvert morning.

On the other end, his Trinidadian counterpart, Evin Lewis, wasn’t shy in taking a taste of the action before he was dismissed for a solid 46.
This came right off the heels of his memorable 99* in the 1st match and a resolute 102 in the 3rd match of the Colonial Medical Insurance ODI series vs Ireland.
LENDL VS LEWIS
While these two explosive openers are a dangerous duo in their Maroon swag, they’ll be competing on opposite sides of the fence in the upcoming CPL tournament. Lendl plays for Trinbago Knight Riders while Evin sailed up the isles to open with the St. Kitts & Nevis Patriots.
So, who do you think will emerge as the more destructive opener in this year’s tournament? WI will just have to wait to see!
