Cricket West Indies (CWI) governs cricket across the West Indies, a confederation of Caribbean countries. Originally established as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control in the 1920s, it became the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996 and was rebranded as Cricket West Indies in May 2017 as part of a restructuring effort.

One week ago, the West Indies star players, captain Nicholas Pooran and allrounder Jason Holder threw out the ceremonial first pitch during the Major League Baseball game between Miami Marlins and Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday night at the loanDepot Park in Miami.

It was part of a partnership between Cricket West Indies and Marlins and members of the team were specially invited guests to the game. West Indies Head Coach Phil Simmons also spoke to Marlins Manager Don Mattingly.

West Indies are ion south Florida for this weekend’s T20Is against India which will be played on Saturday and Sunday at the Central Broward Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.
