Cricket West Indies (CWI) governs cricket across the West Indies, a confederation of Caribbean countries. Originally established as the West Indies Cricket Board of Control in the 1920s, it became the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) in 1996 and was rebranded as Cricket West Indies in May 2017 as part of a restructuring effort.

Ever wondered what life is like in the bio-secure bubble? Well, we spent some quality time on the beat with rookie fast bowler Keon Harding around at the team’s based in Manchester, England. He told us the routine from the moment he got up and said his prayers ‘til the end of the day when the lights were turned off and he signed off to “zzzzzzzzz” land.

WATCH below! Keon tells us what his day is life from the time he wakes up to when he goes to bed:

Keon is among the travelling reserves and on his first tour with the West Indies as we prepare for the #RaiseTheBat Series behind closed doors. So, everything is brand new for the 23-year-old. He is enjoying this time at Emirates Old Trafford, and as he showed us – bowling and batting in the nets, massages after his drills, and even having some down time with his mates in the fabulous games room.

“The food has been amazing .. the chef is wonderful… I can’t complain at all. Training has been pretty intense. I have been working on my alignment,” he said. “There’s a lovely games room provided for us by the ECB (England & Wales Cricket Board) and the hotel. . I enjoy the table tennis … I enjoying beating Joshua DaSilva and soon to beat Nkoyo (Meade) the massage therapist. It’s a great area for us to spend the time and helps you forget you’re in isolation. It brings us together a team.”

Keon is a fast learner and is hoping to soak up as much knowledge as he can during this tour. The big day is around the corner on July 8 when the world will be watching as we get ready for the first ball at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton.
