Ahead of the 2023 CSA Awards, Hollywoodbets Dolphins men’s and women’s players and staff make up a strong number of both domestic and national award nominations announced this week before the awards on 7 July.

Proteas and Dolphins star David Miller features prominently amongst the national award nominations with three nominations. Miller is one of the nominees for SA Men’s Player of the Year, SA Men’s ODI Player of the Year and SA Men’s T20 Player of the Year.

Miller had another strong season with the Proteas in white ball cricket and will be hoping to continue that form into the new season with a 50 over World Cup on the horizon.

Following her recent retirement from international cricket, former Hollywoodbets Dolphins Ladies star Shabnim Ismail has been nominated in all four of the women’s categories.

She has been recognised in the SA Women’s Player of the Year, SA Women’s ODI Player of the Year, SA Women’s T20 Player of the Year and the SA Fans Player of the Year.

Ismail along with Momentum Proteas spinner and Dolphins team-mate Nonkululeko Mlaba have also been nominated in the Best Delivery, fuelled by KFC, award.

Mlaba has also been nominated in the Women’s T20 Player of the Year, SA Women’s Player of the Year and the Fan’s Player of the Year categories.

From a domestic perspective, after the Hollywoodbets Dolphins won the CSA 4-Day Series they have received a nomination for Keshav Maharaj in the 4-Day Series Player of the Year category.

Both Ottniel Baartman and Grant Roelofsen have been nominated in the T20 Challenge Player of the Year category while head coach of the Hollywoodbets Dolphins Imraan Khan is one of the three nominees in the Division One Coach of the Year category.

KZN-based umpire Lubabalo Gcuma has received two nominations. He has been nominated in the CSA Umpires’ Umpire of the Year category and the CSA Umpire of the Year category.

“We are very excited to see Hollywoodbets Dolphins men’s and women’s players being nominated across the categories this year,” CEO of KZN Cricket Heinrich Strydom said.

“It’s always important to acknowledge achievement and a number of our players stood out domestically and internationally which we are very proud of.

“We wish all the nominees the best of luck for the awards, and we hope that our players continue to thrive at every level of the game.”
