The New Zealand national cricket team, known as the Black Caps, made their Test debut in 1930 against England in Christchurch, becoming the fifth nation to play Test cricket. After waiting 26 years for their first Test win against the West Indies in 1956, they also played their first ODI in 1972–73 against Pakistan. New Zealand are the inaugural World Test Championship champions (2021) and have won the ICC Champions Trophy (2000). They have reached the Cricket World Cup final twice and the T20 World Cup final once.

Dulux has a new partnership with New Zealand Cricket.

A leader in New Zealand’s paint and coatings industry, Dulux has full New Zealand Cricket Partnership status for the next three years. The partnership covers elite national sides the BLACKCAPS, WHITE FERNS, as well as the wider cricketing community throughout New Zealand.

With over 1.86m Kiwis watching cricket last season alone, Dulux is proud to help bring the sport to some of the most enthusiastic and committed fans in the world.

Dulux had been looking for a meaningful partnership that aligned to the business’ core values. With the current men’s World test champions, number one Test Side and ODI side, and a slate of world class players throughout the men’s and women’s sides, the NZC partnership opportunity enables Dulux to build on a shared passion for high performance, whilst speaking to a broader audience.

Dulux is also excited to support local grassroots cricket communities in New Zealand, and help breathe new life into local clubs.

“Dulux is honoured to partner with New Zealand Cricket,” says General Manager of Dulux New Zealand, Natalie Ruuska. “Their values of determination and excellence align closely with ours, and we can’t wait to work together on initiatives that really make a difference at the local club level.”

New Zealand Cricket’s General Manager of Commercial, Anna Lawrence, says she is thrilled to welcome Dulux into NZC’s family of partners.

“This partnership shows Dulux’s genuine passion and commitment to cricket in this country,” says Lawrence.

“As Natalie mentioned, the values of both organisations are truly aligned and we are excited to have Dulux involved.

“We are living in an exciting time for cricket with our men performing on the world stage and our women set to host an ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in March next year. The timing couldn’t be better to have Dulux join the NZC family.”

Dulux will increase their reach among the cricket community and supporters through leveraging a suite of premium rights and benefits; covering media and signage, branded activations, and apparel sponsorship.

Like Dulux’s other important local partnerships in DOC, Surf Life Saving New Zealand, and Pet Refuge, the partnership allows Dulux a platform to talk about the brand, premium products, and Dulux Colours of New Zealand in a meaningful way that aligns to the NZC values and the summer season.
