PURPOSE

YOU’LL BE DOING

Business partnering responsibilities, including but not limited to;

  • Providing financial support and analysis for year-to-date actuals and forecasts against budget
  • Managing regular meetings with partnered budget owners and communicating forecast changes back to FP&A Manager for inclusion in group forecast
  • Lead partnered departments during annual budget process, answering queries regarding process and supporting department submissions
  • Assist the FP&A Manager with building and maintaining the ECB’s long term forecasting
  • Support on business case submissions for partnered departments, reviewing details of the submission, challenging department heads and providing financial tables to support decision making
  • Identify, innovate, and implement improvements to management reporting
  • Actively collaborate and lead colleagues to contribute to the development and delivery of strategic and operational plans
  • Developing ad hoc reporting as requested by partnered departments to assist in financial understanding

Month-end process, of all partnered departments, including but not limited to;

  • Processing journal entries and managing day to day maintenance of department P&L’s in line with best practice
  • Ensuring month-end balance sheet items are reconciled for partnered departments, in particularly Accruals, Prepayments and Deferrals
  • Ensuring department resource allocation is correct throughout the year and tracking against budget
  • Support FP&A Manager with the preparation of management accounts and month-end close process on a timely manner to meet reporting deadlines with external partners

Other responsibilities, including but not limited to;

  • Assisting with interim and year end audit processes, providing back up documentation and answering auditor queries
  • Support the FP&A Manager with maintaining the ECB Risk Register
  • Set up comprehensive financial controls designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the companies reported financial results, and ensuring the reported results comply with international financial reporting standards
  • Act as an ambassador for, and promote the best interests of the ECB at all times
  • Other related ad-hoc duties as required

YOU’LL HAVE

  • Qualified Accountant preferable (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • 2+ years PQE commercial finance, FP&A or business partnering experience
  • Proven experience managing P&L’s, balance sheet transactions, project reporting and investment appraisals
  • Experience working with all role levels within an organisation including C-Suite executives
  • Comfortable with challenging, communicating and working with department Heads and Executives
  • Experience with financial systems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong excel skills are essential – vlookups, pivot tables and data manipulation
  • A keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • An ability to effectively prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Good organisational skills
  • Able to work in a team
