ECB: South East Stars win the Charlotte Edwards Cup

South East Stars 139-5 beat Northern Diamonds 138-4 by five wickets

Alice Capsey hit an unbeaten 40 from just 26 balls to steer South East Stars to victory in the inaugural Charlotte Edwards Cup final at the Ageas Bowl today.

The Stars defeated the Northern Diamonds who had earlier overcome Southern Vipers in the eliminator.

Meanwhile, Central Sparks’ captain Eve Jones won the Charlotte Edwards Cup Player of the Year, after topping the PCA MPV Rankings. Jones, who scored 276 runs at an average of 55, won £2,500.

A total of £125,000 was awarded in prize money across the Charlotte Edwards Cup tournament.
