The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the national governing body for cricket in England and Wales, formed on January 1, 1997. It combines roles from the Test and County Cricket Board, National Cricket Association, and Cricket Council, and integrated the Women's Cricket Association in 1998. Based at Lord's Cricket Ground, the ECB oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men, women, and various disability categories.

England cricket captains Ben Stokes and Heather Knight were projected side-by-side on London’s iconic Tower Bridge ahead of this summer’s landmark Ashes series.

The two England captains unite for what will be two historic home Ashes series, with the LV= Insurance Men’s Ashes and Metro Bank Women’s Ashes competitions running side-by-side at the biggest stadiums, in front of record-breaking crowds – making this a truly unmissable summer of cricket.

Ben Stokes said: “The Ashes is one of the biggest and best rivalries in sport and it’s something that every cricketer wants to play in. It’s a great opportunity for the game to have the Men’s Ashes and Women’s Ashes side by side, and we’ve already seen from the ticket sales that fans want to be there to support the women’s team.

“The growth of the women’s game over the past few years has been incredible and is testament to Heather and the team and their quality and success on the pitch. Some of my favourite Ashes memories have been in front of big and loud England crowds, they always get fully behind us and they’ll play a big part for both teams this summer. Hopefully we can continue entertaining them and putting on a show.”

Heather Knight said: “This summer is going to be massive for women’s cricket, we really can’t wait. To be side by side with men’s team and to have more games in major venues is so exciting.

“It’s massive for us to play in front of such big crowds and the record-breaking ticket sales will really give us an extra boost when we’re out there on the field during the Women’s Ashes. I remember seeing the England Men’s and England Women’s teams on the double-decker bus in 2005 and it would be amazing if both teams could have a similar summer this year.”

Stokes’ team will begin their pursuit to regain the Ashes on Friday 16 June at Edgbaston (Birmingham), with Knight leading the women’s charge from Thursday 22 June with an historic five-day test at Trent Bridge (Nottingham).

Every match from the LV= Insurance Men’s Ashes and Metro Bank Women’s Ashes will be broadcast live on Sky Sports. You can also follow videos and over-by-over text commentary across Sky Sports’ digital platforms, which will also host a daily podcast.

BBC will have live TV coverage of the first England Women Vitality IT20 at Edgbaston on July 1 on BBC Two, live ball-by-ball commentary of all men’s and women’s international matches on BBC Sounds, and daily TV highlights of both the LV= Insurance Men’s Ashes and Metro Bank Women’s Ashes. There will also be comprehensive coverage from every match of the international summer on BBC Sport’s app and social platforms, with news, live text commentary and in-play video clips.
