ECB: Stuart Broad runner-up in BBC Sports Personality of the Year

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is the national governing body for cricket in England and Wales, formed on January 1, 1997. It combines roles from the Test and County Cricket Board, National Cricket Association, and Cricket Council, and integrated the Women's Cricket Association in 1998. Based at Lord's Cricket Ground, the ECB oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men, women, and various disability categories.

Stuart Broad has been named runner-up in the 2023 BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

The announcement was made at the annual ceremony in Salford following a public vote to decide the winner.

England Women’s goalkeeper Mary Earps took the top prize with Broad finishing in second and Katarina Johnson-Thompson taking third place.

Broad bowed out with a fairytale ending at The Oval taking a wicket with his final ball in an England shirt to win the final Test against Australia.

In the series Broad took 22 wickets and in the process became the highest wicket-taker form any nation against Australia.

Broad retired having played in 167 Test matches and took 604 Test wicket which places him as the fifth highest wicket taker in Test history.
