You will play a pivotal role in developing and executing innovative marketing strategies, delivering integrated campaigns, leading digital marketing and paid strategy, and driving commercial partnerships and revenue generation.

You will also help to increase the prominence of Gloucestershire Cricket and the Seat Unique Stadium in the Bristol and Gloucestershire media, business and local communities.

Key responsibilities:

  • Digital Media, Marketing and Strategy:
    • Develop and drive comprehensive marketing strategies that maximise visibility and drive engagement.
    • Collaborate with internal departments to align marketing initiatives across all areas of the business.
    • Analysis and reporting of all marketing activity from the Club’s digital and offline channels.
    • Identification of and relationship management with all campaign partners.
    • Responsibility for the management of all Club PR campaigns, covering all areas of activity be they on or off-field.
    • Ensure timely, relevant and engaging communication across all digital channels.
    • Ensure positive engagement with fans and manage the digital community.
    • Oversee the development and execution of digital marketing initiatives and paid strategy, including social media, website management and email marketing
    • Utilise data analytics to measure performance, gain insights and refine digital strategies for maximum impact.
    • Responsibility for the digital and social media marketing strategy across the Club’s channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube).
    • Accountable for the development of the Club’s website.
    • Responsible – through management of the Marketing and Communications Team – for web content, live streaming, news stories, videos and social media content.
  • Management of Marketing Team:
    • Lead and mentor the marketing and communications team, fostering a culture of accountability and ownership among team members.
    • Set clear goals, provide guidance and conduct performance assessments to ensure team success.
    • Management of a wider ‘Production’ team for larger Gloucestershire Cricket matches (for example, all Vitality T20 Blast games) or events (for example, the End of Season Awards evening)
    • Management of marketing and communication interns and temporary employees on an ad hoc basis
  • Segmentation:
    • Work with the Ticketing and Data Operations Manager to conduct further research and testing using our own data pools to refine and expand the segmentation strategy.
    • Develop audience segmentation strategies to tailor marketing efforts and messages for all areas of the business.
    • Personalise content to resonate with specific segments and create meaningful connections.
  • Budget Management:
    • Full production and control of the marketing budget, presented and reported with a zero-based approach.
    • Management of all campaign spend across both cricket and non-cricket related activity – on radio, online, offline or in the media.
    • As part of the commercial team, responsible for achieving revenue targets and growth across several budget lines.
  • Matchday and Events Duties:
    • Planning, promotion and hosting of all club and international matchdays and events in both Bristol and Cheltenham
    • Production of the in-bowl ‘show’ for all one day and T20 matches
  • Wider Stakeholder Management:
    • Communication with B2C and B2B audiences by way of sponsor, partner and charity marketing.
    • Management of relationships with suppliers, agencies and other organisations to secure reciprocal marketing
  • Communication:
    • Oversee internal and external communications to ensure that all major news stories and leadership decisions are effectively communicated across the Club.

Personal Specification:

  • The successful candidate will be a self-driven individual with a passion for marketing. The ability to balance multiple projects of wide variety is essential to this role as the club and venue continues to grow its marketing operations, so you’ll be an incredibly organised person.
  • Knowledge and interest in cricket would be an advantage, but is not essential, rather the ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of how the Club and venue can grow both commercially whilst positively impacting its communities.
  • Working as part of the club’s Commercial Department, the successful applicant will be a self-starter with bags of confidence and someone who places the team above all else. Training and development opportunities will be provided at a Club thriving on and off the field.
  • You will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge of CRM systems and wider computer literacy.
  • You’ll be an efficient communicator and have a thorough understanding of the digital media landscape and how the Club is best placed to ensure maximum amplification of its activities.
  • In a hugely important role at the Club, it goes without saying that you’ll have proven leadership and team-working skills, and add much to what is a diverse, hard-working team set in a fun and enjoyable environment
  • You will be passionate about promoting the Club’s on and off-field activities across its community and commercial initiatives and can bring creative thinking and ideas to the fore.
  • An ability to create content that appeals to a varied audience is important, as is having the interpersonal skills to deal with a variety of stakeholders, ranging from local community groups to experienced journalists.
  • Major Match Day operations are essential to this role, which will therefore require weekend and evening working, depending on the fixture calendar.
