Googly & CPL are delighted to announce that they have signed an agreement to launch the ‘ECPL’.The Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is one of the most supported sporting leagues in the world, with the annual T20 cricket competition attracting a total viewership reach of more than 720 million. During this year’s tournament, which kicks off on August 16th, CPL fans can represent their favourite team and compete in the ECPL on Googly, India’s newest and most exciting esports and gaming destination.With a prize pool of US$25,000, the ECPL will run for 7 weeks and consist of three stages. Each CPL team – Barbados Royals, Guyana Amazon Warriors, Jamaica Tallawahs, St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Saint Lucia Kings and Trinbago Knight Riders – will host single elimination bracket Open Qualifiers on the Googly tournament platform to find their mobile esports representative
These six players will move on to the Double Round Robin tournament, playing for their CPL team every Wednesday for five weeks on a live broadcast esports show, to collect leaderboard points. At the end of the round robin, the Top 4 players will head to the ECPL Playoffs on 20th September, also broadcast live, to find the world’s best WCC3 player and crown the official ECPL champion.
