Hero CPL contributes batting nets to Choiseul and Soufriere

The Caribbean Premier League (CPL) is an annual Twenty20 cricket tournament in the Caribbean, established in 2013 by Cricket West Indies to replace the Caribbean Twenty20. Sponsored by Republic Bank Limited, it is officially known as the Republic Bank CPL.

As part of this initiative, Hero CPL, with the support of local franchise the Saint Lucia Kings, have contributed two batting nets to the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports.

On accepting these nets, the Minister for Youth Development and Sports, the Honourable Kenson Casimir, said: “The Ministry of Youth Development & Sports is delighted to have received two batting nets from CPL and the St Lucia Kings. The communities of Choiseul and Soufriere will be the recipients of this much needed investment in their cricket Development. 

‘We have no doubt that these two communities will take responsibility for the upkeep of these nets as we look to nurture more cricketers like West Indies World Cup player, Johnson Charles in these cricket loving communities. Thanks for this worthwhile investment in our youth!”

Pete Russell, Hero CPL’s CEO, said: “The Hero CPL continues to put cricket development at the top of our list of priorities, and we are pleased that we are able to play our part in improving facilities for the next generation of Caribbean cricketers.”
