The Hobart Hurricanes are pleased to announce the signing of Rachel Priest for the Rebel WBBL|06 season.

Priest joins the Hurricanes squad after formerly playing with the New Zealand International team and the Sydney Thunder.

Hobart Hurricanes head coach Salliann Briggs spoke of how important Rachel’s experience across all competitions will be.

“We’ve struggled to establish our best opening combination at the top of the order, so we are pleased to fill one of the spots with a very talented and experienced campaigner.”

“I’ve been overwhelmed by her ability as an operator and as a leader, she’ll have a significant impact that will be long-lasting which is a credit to her as a person,” Briggs said.

Priest spoke of how pleased she is very excited to have another go with a new WBBL club.

“With my experience I’m here to win games,” she said. “I’m being paid to do that, so it adds a bit of pressure, but it’s also good because it makes me take it seriously while making sure that I’m performing for the team.”

“I’ll play wherever Sal thinks is right for the team, which is what I’ve done in the past and I’ll just slot in wherever is best for everyone involved.”
