The Hobart Hurricanes can proudly announce that young-gun Hayley Silver-Holmes has re-signed for another two seasons, through to the end of WBBL|11.

Silver-Holmes, who played a key role for the Hurricanes in WBBL|09, will continue to impress for the purple army as the 20-year-old’s pace bowling improves.

I’m super excited to be on board for another two years, and I am looking forward to helping achieve great heights and success for the team!” Explained Silver-Holmes.

After missing WBBL|08 through injury, Silver-Holmes returned to T20 action last season, opening the bowling for the Hurricanes and influencing games with her lower-order batting and power hitting.

Silver-Holmes started her WBBL career in 2018 as a 15-year-old for the Sydney Sixers, where she featured in seven matches in her first season and was the youngest-ever debutant for the franchise.

Following three successful WBBL seasons with the Sixers, Silver-Holmes signed with the Hurricanes at the beginning of WBBL|08, not playing her first game in purple until WBBL|09 when she debuted against the Perth Scorchers at the University of Tasmania Stadium.

Head Coach of the Hobart Hurricanes Female Program, Jude Coleman, spoke of Silver-Holmes’ potential and the role she can play for the Hurricanes in the coming seasons.

Hayley is an incredible talent and has all the tools to be a successful world T20 bowler.

She is an incredibly hard worker, and to return from major injuries over the past few seasons with a willingness to continue to get better, shows that she has a drive to be the best she can be.

We have seen her have great success at such a young age, and still only at 20 years old, she has the ability to be a crucial aspect of our WBBL squad with the bat and ball for years to come,” discussed Coleman.

Silver-Holmes joins Heather Graham, Amy Smith, Molly Strano and Rachel Trenaman as Hurricanes players under contract ahead of WBBL|10, as several new signings and re-signings to be shared with fans over the coming weeks.

Details on memberships for WBBL|10 and BBL|14 will be communicated to Hurricanes members over the coming months.
