The Hobart Hurricanes have made the following statement regarding Matthew Wade.

Hobart Hurricanes captain, Matthew Wade, has been suspended for one KFC Big Bash League match.

Wade incurred one suspension point after incurring three Level 1 Code of Conduct breaches within 18 months. The charges in that period relate to two instances of use of an audible obscenity and one instance of abuse of cricket equipment.

Wade will therefore miss today’s match against the Melbourne Renegades at Blundstone Arena.

Tim Paine will replace Wade in the squad of 15 for today’s match.

Given the close proximity to match time, no further comment will be made on this matter.
