After injuring his hamstring in last Wednesday’s game against the Brisbane Heat, Keemo Paul and the Hobart Hurricanes have come to the mutual decision that Paul will return home to Guyana to continue his recovery.

The West Indian all-rounder has been on the road for approximately six months now, and with his return to full fitness before the end of the tournament uncertain, the decision to return home will be the best for Paul’s overall wellbeing.

Cricket Tasmania’s General Manager of High Performance, Simon Insley, said that the club was fully supportive of the decision.

“It’s really unfortunate for Keemo that his initial time in the KFC BBL has come to an end like this.  It’s been great to have him as a part of the group, and this setback has been really disappointing for him.

“Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see the best out of Keemo this tournament, due to the demand that comes with back-to-back bubbles.  However, with proper time to rest and recuperate, we are hopeful that we will see Keemo back in the BBL in the future.”

“I’m very disappointed to get injured so early in the BBL campaign,” Paul added.  “However, I thank the Hurricanes for their support and wish them all the best for the remainder of the tournament.”
