Two five-Test series each against arch-rivals England and India highlight Australia Men’s Future Tours Programme (FTP) for the period 2023-27 that was confirmed by the International Cricket Council (ICC) today.

The announcement of the FTP, a result of a collective effort of Full Members with ICC’s support, ensures certainty of cricket fixtures with the confirmation of all bilateral series across the three formats. The exact dates and venues of the series are for the Members to announce in due course.

Australia start the FTP with an away series in England in June-July 2023, the high-profile Ashes series also kicking off their campaign in the third cycle of the ICC World Test Championship (WTC).

Australia then host Pakistan for three Tests and the West Indies for two Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is in 2023-24 while finishing off that season with an away series of two Tests and three T20Is in neighbouring New Zealand in February-March.

Australia’s other Test series against England is scheduled from November 2025 to January 2026 while the Test series against India at home is scheduled from November to January 2024 and the away series in January-February 2025.

Australia’s other commitments include three Tests against Pakistan and two against the West Indies during their home summer of the 2023-24 season and away tours of Sri Lanka in February 2025 and of South Africa in September-October 2026. They are also scheduled to host Afghanistan for a Test and three T20Is a little before the South Africa tour, for one Test and three T20Is.

WTC series: Australia play India, Pakistan and the West Indies at home during the 2023-25 WTC and England, New Zealand and Sri Lanka away. In the 2025-27 WTC, they play Bangladesh, England and New Zealand at home while playing India, South Africa and the West Indies in away series.

The announcement of the Men’s FTP comes a day after the first ever Women’s FTP was announced.

ICC GM of Cricket Wasim Khan said: “I’d like to thank our Members for the effort that has gone into creating this FTP for the next four years. We are incredibly lucky to have three vibrant formats of the game, with an outstanding programme of ICC global events and strong bilateral and domestic cricket and this FTP is designed to allow all cricket to flourish.

“The landscape around the game is continuing to evolve and we will work closely with Members as we collectively adapt to that. We are committed to growing the game and giving more fans more opportunities to enjoy cricket, but are very mindful of the need to balance that ambition with the welfare of players.”

Cricket Australia Chief Executive Officer Nick Hockley said: “We are excited to have confirmed both the women’s and men’s FTPs which include great series for our fans at home and abroad.

“We have seen from recent tours to Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Ireland, the power and popularity of bilateral international cricket to bring people together and grow the global game.

“It is particularly pleasing to confirm multi-format series for our Women’s team, with the opportunity to play Test matches, and a comprehensive program of international white ball cricket for both teams.

“We are also excited about a strong calendar of Test matches which count towards the ICC World Test Championship, including 5-match series for both the Ashes and the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.”
