There are still some tickets available for Sunday’s ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2022 final between Australia and England at tickets.cricketworldcup.com

“It’s going to be a fitting to a celebration of cricket – after the close matches and world class action on display throughout CWC 22, tickets for the final are in hot demand,” said CWC 22 CEO Andrea Nelson.

“Australia and England supporters will be out in numbers to get behind their teams and Cantabrians – some of the most knowledgeable and loyal cricket fans you will find anywhere – know a World Cup final is something special, and will be at Hagley to be part of the show.”

Fans are reminded that the first ball will be at the earlier time of 1.00pm, due to daylight savings.

Gates open at 11.30am, giving fans plenty of time to see mana whenua Ngāi Tūāhuriri perform a closing ceremony prior to the match. The ceremony will include the sounding of the pūtātara, karanga and haka performed by local kapa haka Te Ahikaaroa, and a whaikōrero given by mana whenua.

“It’s a chance for mana whenua to congratulate the players who have made it to the finals and acknowledge all of the teams, their support crew and families, in a uniquely Māori way,” said Liz Kereru, Ngāi Tūāhuriri.

“It‘s also an opportunity to bid farewell to these elite athletes and recognise the many who have contributed to bringing CWC 22 to Aotearoa New Zealand.”

Fans outside Christchurch can tune in to the game with coverage starting on Sky Sport 3 (and streaming on Sky Sport Now) at 12.30pm, while live and free to air coverage will also be available on Prime from the first ball at 1pm.

Sophie Moloney, Sky CEO says: “Offering the CWC 22 final free-to-air is one more way Sky can help New Zealanders See the Possible. We believe to be it she needs to see it. With more girls and women watching this exciting final, the more they will be inspired to stay active and play a sport.

“We’re so proud to be the Official Broadcaster for this outstanding event and offer our warmest congratulations to all the players, management and the incredible team behind the scenes who have delivered CWC 22. Ka rawe!”
