The International Cricket Council (‘ICC’) is the global governing body for the sport, which administers all aspects of international cricket.
We are currently looking for Manager – Participation Programmes for our Development team, based at the ICC headquarters in Dubai, UAE. The Manager – Participation Programmes is responsible for the design, development and delivery of the ICC’s participation programmes including school programmes, softball cricket programmes and coach & umpire education programmes. These programmes are provided to the ICC’s Members to accelerate the global growth of participation in cricket and to improve the participation experience and player retention rates. Central to the success of these programmes is the training and accreditation of in-country workforces across Member countries to deliver these programmes as well as working with Members to ensure robust participation pathways exist in each Member country.
Principal Accountabilities
Responsibilities of the Manager – Participation Programmes include but are not limited to the following:
1. Game Development
- Schools & Clubs growth strategy design and delivery
- Development Digital Platform project management
- Sustainable and accessible Player Pathways Project Management
- Accessible formats – recognise, celebrate and support
2.Training and Education Programme design and delivery
- Project manage the design of the ICC Coach and Umpire education curricula
- Management of a Learning Management System to facilitate the delivery of the ICC Education programmes
- Design and deliver workforce training programme to ensure a global network of ICC accredited Educators and Trainers are trained and accredited to deliver the ICC Education programme
3.Assist ICC Associate Members in defining and enhancing long-term player development pathways
- Through the ICC Global Development Team, work with ICC Associate Members to help them identify appropriate long-term player development pathways
- Ensure Associate Members understand what resources and programmes (provided by the ICC and/or other organisations) support each stage of the player development pathway
- Work with Associate Members to identify and deliver strategies to retain participants at all levels of the game
4.Provide strategic leadership to Members regarding growth in participation
5.Provide leadership within the ICC and with Members regarding Women’s & Girls growth strategies
6.Manage the ICC central Budget related to the development and delivery of the ICC’s participation and education programmes
7.Collaborate with the ICC Global Development Team and the regional Development officers to assist Members in the delivery of ICC participation and education programmes;
8.Collaborate with the ICC Marketing and Communications team to develop and deliver marketing programmes to assist Members in growing awareness of participation and education programmes.
9.Work closely with the ICC Digital Department to ensure the ICC’s participation and education programmes are digitally enabled, agile and reflective of shifts in consumption.
10.Play an active role in the ICC Global Development Team:
- Be a key Member of the ICC Global Development Team, connecting regularly with counterparts in other locations on global initiatives, sharing of good practice and ensuring a globally consistent approach; and take on additional global projects, as and when required
Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience
- Proven expertise in sports management with experience in designing and delivering sport development programmes;
- Demonstrated project management experience;
- Excellent budget management and financial reporting skills;
- Strong knowledge and understanding of delivering sports participation programmes;
- Experience in the delivery of education curriculum and resources, preferably in sport is desirable;
- An understanding of the game of cricket is essential;
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills;
- Ability to work with stakeholders from different backgrounds across cultural and national identities;
- Ability to develop partnerships across various sectors (corporate, government, non-government, and media);
- Ability to think creatively and innovate; and
- Persistence and an ability to work independently.
