The International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation received a comprehensive briefing on Thursday regarding the security measures planned for the visiting teams and officials during the upcoming Champions Trophy, scheduled for February 2025 in Pakistan.

The Ministry of Interior conducted the briefing, with input from all relevant agencies on ensuring the safety and comfort of teams while traveling between hotels and stadiums.

According to sources, the five-member ICC delegation included Sarah Edgar (Senior Manager Events), Aun Muhammad Zaidi (Event Manager and CT25 Event Head), Wasim Khan (ICC GM Cricket), David Musker (Security Manager), and Mansoor Manj (ICC Broadcast Consultant). The delegation was informed about the security protocols that have successfully protected visiting teams over the past eight years, providing VVIP-level security typically reserved for high-ranking foreign dignitaries.

The briefing highlighted the security arrangements for the upcoming Champions Trophy, drawing attention to the successful protocols in place for recent Test and white-ball series held in Pakistan.

Earlier, the delegation, accompanied by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) officials Usman Wahla, Col. Khalid, and Salman Masood, visited Pindi Stadium, one of the three venues for the tournament. They were briefed on the facilities for players, spectators, and media, as well as renovation plans for the stadium.

The PCB plans minimal upgrades to the existing facilities at Pindi Stadium, with permanent seating to be installed in all enclosures and hospitality boxes added near the Media Box before the tournament. The Media Box, which was recently renovated, already meets or exceeds international standards.

The ICC delegation also visited a local hotel where the teams will stay during the Champions Trophy. The hotel management briefed the delegation on the facilities and services available to the teams and officials during their stay.
