Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during their TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) match against Punjab Kings at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences, Mr. Rana was fined Rs. 12 lakh.
The Indian Premier League (IPL), also known as the TATA IPL, is an annual men’s Twenty20 cricket league in India, founded by the BCCI in 2007. Featuring ten state or city-based franchises, it is the most popular cricket league globally. The tournament runs for two months, from March to May, with an exclusive window in the ICC Future Tours Programme.
