Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has been fined after his team maintained a slow over rate during their VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 match against Punjab Kings at the Dubai International Stadium, Dubai on September 21.
As it was his team’s first offence of the season under the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over rate offences, Mr Samson was fined Rs 12 lakh.
The Indian Premier League (IPL), also known as the TATA IPL, is an annual men’s Twenty20 cricket league in India, founded by the BCCI in 2007. Featuring ten state or city-based franchises, it is the most popular cricket league globally. The tournament runs for two months, from March to May, with an exclusive window in the ICC Future Tours Programme.
