England pacer Jofra Archer has reportedly entered the IPL 2025 mega auction, set to take place on November 24 and 25, despite not being included in the initial 574-player shortlist.

The BCCI had released the official shortlist last week, which included James Anderson but surprisingly omitted Archer.

Initially, it was believed that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) advised Archer to skip IPL 2025 to manage his workload during a busy year that includes the Champions Trophy, five home Tests against India, and an away Ashes series in Australia.

However, it was reported that following discussions, the ECB approved Archer’s participation in the auction. Given the registration deadline for the auction had already passed, it is likely Archer also received approval from the BCCI to join at the last minute.

The 29-year-old has had a challenging international career due to injuries but has enjoyed a productive 2024, playing 20 international matches—the most in five years.

He was part of England’s squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup and recently featured in their 3-1 T20I series win against the West Indies.
