Karachi Kings (KK) is a Pakistani Twenty20 cricket team competing in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Based in Karachi, the team was established in 2015 by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and plays its home matches at the National Stadium.

Pakistan Super League’s (PSL) most-followed franchise Karachi Kings’ fielding coach Mohammad Masroor is all set to share his valuable experience with Pakistan Shaheens after being named the head coach of the side for the upcoming ACC Emerging Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.

Muhammad Masroor, 48, is a former Pakistan domestic cricketer and a Level 3 qualified coach. He played 55 first-class games in his career from 1995 to 2008 and scored 2418 runs at an average of 28.11 with 14 half-centuries and three hundreds.

After putting an end to his brilliant domestic career, Masroor took up coaching and got his first assignment in 2011.

He coached several teams in his decorated coaching career before joining Karachi Kings. He is currently linked with the former PSL champions as the fielding coach.

Meanwhile, Masroor, who served as the assistant coach in the Emerging Asia Cup in 2018 will now take the reigns of Pakistan Shaheens as the head coach for the upcoming continental event.

Besides Masroor, the head physio of Karachi Kings Imtiaz Ahmed was also named in Pakistan Shaheens’ support staff and will link up with the side as the physiotherapist.

The eight-team ACC Men’s Emerging Asia Cup 2023 is scheduled to take place in Sri Lanka from 14 to 23 July.

Wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Haris will lead Pakistan Shaheens in the 15-match tournament.

The squad will assemble at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore following the Eid Al Adha holidays on Monday, 3 July, for a week-long training camp before the team’s arrival in Colombo on 12 July.

Pakistan Shaheens, who are the defending champions, are clubbed with India A, Nepal and Sri Lanka in Group A, while Group B includes Afghanistan A, Bangladesh A, Oman and United Arab Emirates.
