May 1 marked the vibrant kick-off to the youth season at VCC, with more than 100 enthusiastic children taking to the field to celebrate the Spirit of cricket. Players from the men’s national team were present. That added inspiration and expertise to the festivities.
The day started with tip-and-run matches, where budding cricketers had the opportunity to showcase their skills and learn from the country’s best. National players generously shared tips and advice and ignited the passion for cricket among the youth.
To emphasize the interactive nature of the event, a press conference was hosted by Logan Van Beek, which gave the children the opportunity to interact directly with the players. From curious questions to insightful questions, the interaction was both educational and fun and showcased the essence of cricket as a team sport.
Amid the good atmosphere and the warm sun, the Opening Day of the 2024 Youth Season was a day to remember and opened the door to an exciting season.
