Cricket South Africa (CSA) governs cricket in South Africa. Formed in 2002, it succeeded the United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCB) and became the sole governing body in 2008. CSA oversees all levels of cricket, including national teams for men and women, and is a full ICC member and SASCOC affiliate.

The Knights celebrated a triumphant evening at the annual CSA Awards held yesterday in Midrand, with several of their standout players and staff recognized for their exceptional performances over the past season.

The Knights were honored across both the Pathway and Professional cricket categories, highlighting the depth of talent within the franchise.

Pathway Awards:

Martin Tlhake was awarded the prestigious Groundsman of the Year title, recognizing his dedication and excellent work in maintaining top-class cricket facilities.

Francois van Rooyen was named Rural Cricketer of the Year, a testament to his outstanding performances and commitment to cricket in rural areas.

CSA Professional Cricket Awards:

Yolandi Potgieter made a lasting impression, walking away with two major accolades: Women’s Domestic Players’ Player of the Year and SACA Women’s Player of the Year. Her consistency and leadership on the field have been instrumental in the Knights’ success.

Garnett Tarr was named CSA Division 2 1-Day Player of the Year for his stellar performances in limited-overs cricket, proving to be a key player for the team.JP Triegaardt, the mastermind behind the team’s resurgence, took home the Division 2 Coach of the Year award, highlighting his strategic brilliance in guiding the Knights to success.

Knights CEO Johan van Heerden extended his congratulations, saying, “These awards are a true reflection of the commitment and excellence demonstrated by our team, both on and off the field. I am incredibly proud of every individual who has contributed to our success.”

“The hard work and dedication shown by Martin, Francois, Yolandi, Garnett, and JP, as well as the entire Knights family, inspire us to keep striving for greatness.” Concluded Johan.

The Knights continue to build on their legacy of excellence, both on and off the field, and these awards reflect the hard work and commitment of every member of the franchise.
