Lions Cricket partner with The Angel Network, Hearts Build Homes and Ashraful Aid at DP World Wanderers Stadium on 18 July 2023

The 18 July 2023 will see the DP World Wanderers Stadium come alive with the passionate building of homes for those much in need all thanks to The Angel

Network together Fingertips of Africa and their incredible partners coming on board. The day will also be celebrated with long standing Lions Cricket partner, Ashraful Aid as thousands of food and hygiene hampers are packed with love and care.

In an effort to bring together charities, communities and cricket, event organizers The Angel Network together with Fingertips of Africa as well as Ashraful Aid and the Lions Cricket family encourage all corporates and people from far and wide to build homes (kindly contact The Angel Network directly to secure space as booking is essential) and join the packing of the parcels on the treasured and iconic field of the DP World Wanderers.

In addition to the packing of food and hygiene hampers with Ashraful Aid we are adding to the true spirit of Ubuntu and remembering our great leader, Nelson Mandela when homes are built on the field because every heart deserves a home. The Hearts Build Homes initiative with The

Angel Network and Fingertips of Africa have joined hands in hosting corporates to build over 50 sponsored homes, all of which will be stocked with household essentials.

Lions Cricket CEO Jono Leaf-Wright says of the double drive;“The Lions family believes in One Team, One Stadium, One City of Gold – and as such we are reaching out to our city and fans, to join us in our dual partnership initiative with The Angel Network (together with Fingertips of Africa) as well as the Ashraful Aid Humanitarian Organisation.  We’ll build and pack from early morning to late evening, with our players, partners, friends and families – because there’s no better way to celebrate Mandela Day than the gift of giving. We at Lions Cricket continue to remain focused on not only producing great cricketers on the field but great people off it, people who are committed to impacting communities and lives positively, as we build our Province and Country together.”

Wishing everyone a wonderful and blessed Mandela Day as South Africa and the world joins hands once again to continue the legacy of our great leader, Tata Nelson Mandela who in his words reminds us, “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

Both events will commence from 09h00 on the DP World Wanderers Stadium field. To participate in the building of homes, please contact The Angel Network. To participate in the packing of hygiene and food parcels, kindly contact Ashraful Aid.
