The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are focusing on promising young talent for their IPL 2025 retention list, which the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the IPL governing council are set to announce before the October 31 deadline.

According to reports, LSG is likely to retain capped players including fast bowler Mayank Yadav, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, and Caribbean power-hitter Nicholas Pooran. Among uncapped players, the franchise is expected to select Uttar Pradesh pacer Mohsin Khan and Delhi batter Ayush Badoni.

Ahead of the 2025 auction, each IPL team may retain up to six players, with a maximum of two overseas and two uncapped players allowed. After retaining five players, LSG will have one Right to Match (RTM) card, which they can use at the auction for a sixth retention.

Following IPL retention policy, LSG’s five retentions will cost INR 51 crore from their total auction purse of INR 120 crore. The retention of three capped players will deduct INR 18, 14, and 11 crore, respectively, while each uncapped player will cost INR 4 crore.

Pooran is expected to be LSG’s top retention, receiving INR 18 crore, with Mayank and Bishnoi next in line at INR 14 and 11 crore, respectively.

In other news, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) is reportedly prepared to offer Heinrich Klaasen over INR 22 crore to retain him for the upcoming season.
