The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) convened today for its 15th meeting at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, where several significant decisions related to the governance and operational capabilities of the board were endorsed:
Resignations of Directors Accepted
The Board accepted the resignations of directors A.M. Naimur Rahman Durjoy, Khaled Mahmud and Md. Enayet Husain Siraj.
Cancellation of Directorship
Additionally, the directorship of the following directors has been vacated in accordance with the BCB Constitution due to their absence from three or more consecutive meetings: Nazmul Hassan, Manzur Kader, A.J.M. Nasir Uddin, Sk. Sohel, Advocate Anwarul Islam, Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, Muhammed Ismail Haider Mallick, Tanvir Ahmed (Titu), Obeid Rashid Nizam, Gazi Golam Murtoza and Nazib Ahmed.
Formation of Constitution Amendment Committee
To ensure the BCB remains functional and responsive to contemporary needs, the Board has decided to form a Constitution Amendment Committee. This committee, to be headed by BCB Director Nazmul Abedeen as convener. The Committee will be responsible for assessing the current BCB Constitution, identifying areas of improvement and proposing amendments that align with the strategic goals and evolving needs of the BCB.
Modern Gym Facilities at Three Venues
In a significant move to bolster athlete training, the Board has approved the establishment of three fully equipped modern gyms at the Test venues in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.
Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)
The Board is committed to delivering the 11th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T20 with utmost excellence, supported by the Bangladesh Government. The BPL is scheduled to commence on December 30, 2024 with the final set for February 7, 2025.
The Board has also agreed in principle to introduce a full-fledged e-ticket system for the 11th edition of the BPL, aiming to streamline the ticketing process for fans.
