Meghna Bank PLC will sponsor the first, second, and third division cricket leagues in Dhaka, according to a press release. The bank has entered into a one-year agreement with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for these domestic cricket tournaments.

During a press conference held in Mirpur on Tuesday, October 22, Fahim Sinha, the director and head of marketing at BCB, announced the sponsorship agreement.

The contract is valued at Tk 1 crore. At the press conference, Meghna Bank’s deputy managing director, Kimiwa Saddat, presented a check to Sinha.

Moazzim Hossain Jewel, the head of brand, marketing, and communications at Meghna Bank, was also present at the event.

With Meghna Bank PLC’s support, the BCB aims to restructure the tournaments to enhance cricket in the country.

Kimiwa Saddat expressed, “Cricket is not just a sport. It is one of the key factors that introduces Bangladesh to the international stage. Therefore, we are proud and honored to be associated with Bangladesh Cricket. This is our first initiative, but definitely not the last. We would like to consider this as the beginning. We aim to continue our partnership with the Bangladesh Cricket Board in the development of grassroots cricket in the future.”

Fahim Sinha added, “BCB is very pleased to have Meghna Bank as a sponsor for these three important divisions. We hope to be in partnership with Meghna Bank in the future as well.”

Moazzim Hossain Jewel emphasized that Meghna Bank’s sponsorship will significantly contribute to the tournament, aiding in the development of national players from the grassroots level.
