The Melbourne Renegades community will come together on Sunday to celebrate the enormous contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to the sport of cricket and the nation.

The Renegades host its WBBL First Nations Round against the Hobart Hurricanes on Boon Wurrung Country (CitiPower Centre / Junction Oval) in what will be a showcase of Indigenous culture and ceremony.

All four clubs in Sunday’s double-header will come together for a Barefoot Ceremony and Welcome to Country before the match.

Debuted in Perth on November 4, the squad will also wear its First Nations kit which displays a collaborative design by local Indigenous artist Bayley Mifsud and the Renegades’ own and proud Jawoyn woman Ella Hayward.

The design will not only feature on the playing kits and caps but will feature in on-ground elements throughout the afternoon including the big screen and on the custom-made bat used for the pre-match bat flip.
