For the second time in as many years, Team India and Team Sri Lanka will contest the Truck Assist Melbourne Renegades Champions League title this Sunday in Werribee.
With Harry Trott and Ian Johnson Oval in Albert Park hosting the two semi-finals, it was the reigning champions in Team Sri Lanka who advanced first, defeating Team Pakistan by seven wickets.
Winning the toss and batting first, Sri Lanka bowled superbly to keep Pakistan to 6/96 after their 20 overs.
They would waste no time in chasing it down, hitting a six off the first ball of the 11th over to book their place in the final and look to go back-to-back as champions.
Team India will join Sri Lanka in the final after they defeated Bangladesh by 90 runs in a commanding display.
Batting first, India piled on the runs – led by Ab Das (75) and Shorye Chopra (62) to finish their innings on 6/195.
The total would be too much for Bangladesh to chase down, finishing on 9/105 at the end of their 20 overs.
The final will take place out of Chirnside Park Oval in Werribee this Sunday from 8:30AM.
It is a replay of the 2021/22 edition of the Champions League Final, where Sri Lanka secured a 19-run win for the title.
