The Melbourne Renegades have made two changes to their 13-man squad for Saturday night’s Melbourne Derby against the Stars at the MCG.
Paceman Harry Gurney and all-rounder Jack Wildermuth return to the squad, replacing batsman Marcus Harris and fast bowler Joe Mennie.
Gurney was an absentee from Thursday’s loss to the Sydney Sixers after flying out to the UK to attend his brother’s wedding, while Wildermuth, who has not played since the loss to the Perth Scorchers on 21 December, has been on the edge of selection in recent weeks.
The Renegades will be looking to get their season back on track with their first victory of their BBL|09 campaign. A win against the Stars would be extra sweet, given the rivalry that has been forged between the two Melbourne clubs over the first eight seasons of the Big Bash League.
The match will be the first meeting between the two clubs since the BBL|08 final, which was won spectacularly by the Renegades after the Stars failed to chase down 146.
