Melbourne Renegades vice-captain Georgia Wareham is expected to miss WBBL|08 as she continues her recovery from a knee injury.
The 22-year-old sustained an ACL injury to her left knee whilst fielding in a WBBL match for the Renegades in Hobart last summer.
Wareham, a nationally-contracted player, underwent an ACL reconstruction in early 2022 and is making sound progress with her rehabilitation.
“Georgia had an ACL reconstruction in February and is progressing well in the early stages of her rehab,” Australian Women’s Team Physiotherapist, Kate Beerworth, said
“She’s working towards a return to play in early 2023.”
The leg-spinning all-rounder has represented Australia on 59 occasions across all three formats of the game.
Wareham, a foundation Renegade, signed a three-year contract extension last year to remain with the club until at least the end of WBBL|09.
