Youngsters Olivia Henry and Hasrat Gill have committed to the Stars for WBBL|08.
Henry, a top order batter who can bowl off spin, receives her first ever WBBL contract, which comes off the back of her first ever state contract for the 2022-23 season. Henry scored 324 runs for Ringwood in Victorian Premier Cricket in 2021-22 and represented Victoria Metro in the 2022 U19 National Championships in Adelaide.
Gill is one of the brightest young talents in Victorian cricket, having already taken a hattrick for the Melbourne Cricket Club in Victorian Premier Cricket. Earlier this year she was the leading wicket-taker in the competition with 26 wickets. Gill also competed for Vic Country in the Under 19 National Championships this year.
Melbourne Stars General Manager was thrilled to add the duo to the squad.
“I’m really looking forward to watching the development of both Olivia and Hasrat throughout WBBL|08.
“It will be great for our fans to witness some of Victorian’s best young talent on show.”
