The Melbourne Stars have appointed Blair Crouch to the role of interim General Manager.
The appointment comes as current Stars GM Nick Cummins continues in the role of interim Cricket Victoria Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Crouch has previously managed large commercial, marketing and strategy portfolios and brings a unique mix of experience from his time with leading brands, agencies and rights holders.
“Having seen the launch and phenomenal success of the Big Bash, I’m excited to lead the Stars as we plan for success in BBL|11 and WBBL|07,” Mr Crouch said.
“The Big Bash is exciting, family focused and fun and I’m looking forward to working with Cricket Australia and the team at Cricket Victoria to ensure the Stars play a positive role in the competition’s continued success.”
Most recently Mr Crouch was the Global Head of Strategic Partnerships for SWEAT and has previously served as General Manager – Strategy and Marketing with MKTG, General Manager – Marketing and Commercial with the Moonee Valley Racing Club and Head of Commercial with the Australian Football League.
He will commence in his role with the Stars on Monday.
“Given my current role with Cricket Victoria, we sought an interim GM for the Stars to ensure the club is well placed heading into the season,” Mr Cummins said.
“Blair’s sharp knowledge of the sporting landscape, strategic insight and partnership experience will enable him to hit the ground running.”
The process to appoint a Cricket Victoria CEO is ongoing.
