The Melbourne Stars have added serious firepower with both bat and ball during the BBL Overseas Player Draft tonight.

Armed with the number 1 pick, the Stars called out Rashid Khan for the second year in a row, who was then retained by the Adelaide Strikers.

The Stars then selected English superstar Harry Brook at Pick 2.

Brook has gone from strength to strength over the past two years becoming a devastating T20 batter on both the international and domestic stage.

A world cup winner with England last year, Brook was one of the highest paid players in the IPL and only last week scored a century in the Hundred off just 42 deliveries.

BBL|13 will also see the return of Haris Rauf to the Melbourne Stars, after he was taken by the club with Pick 9.

A fan favourite, Rauf will link up with his old teammates for another campaign where he has wowed crowds at the MCG with his elite pace and energy.

After passing on Pick 24, the Stars selected Pakistan leg spinner Usama Mir with Pick 25.

Making his international debut with Pakistan earlier this year, he impressed throughout the Hundred with his spin and can also bat in the lower order.
