Emerging Victorian left arm orthodox spinner, Doug Warren, has signed with the Stars for KFC BBL|14.

The 23-year-old burst onto the scene in late 2023, playing two Sheffield Shield games for Victoria.

Warren has since been selected for the CA XI where he took 3 wickets against the West Indians and has recently returned from India where he was part of the MRF Academy.

“Doug is an exciting prospect and he’s got a wonderful opportunity to learn from some of Australia’s best T20 cricketers of the past decade in Marcus Stoinis and Glenn Maxwell,” said General Manager Blair Crouch.

“As a list management team we’ve always got one eye on the future and it’s important to keep bringing through the next generation of Stars players and exposing them to elite level T20 cricket.”

Current BBL|14 Squad: Scott Boland, Hilton Cartwright, Tom Curran (ENG), Ben Duckett (ENG), Sam Harper, Campbell Kellaway, Glenn Maxwell, Hamish McKenzie, Usama Mir (PAK), Joel Paris, Tom Rogers, Mark Steketee, Marcus Stoinis, Doug Warren, Beau Webster
