The Melbourne Stars Family Day will return to the City of Casey this year at Casey Fields on Sunday, 10th December.
Members and fans will be able to get closer than ever to players from the Stars BBL|13 squad after their opening game of the season.
The club is also pleased to announce that the Stars WBBL team will play a home game at the venue in WBBL|10 and WBBL|11, after recently hosting the Sydney Thunder at Casey Fields, which coincided with the opening of the new facilities.
The City of Casey represents one of the strongest areas of Stars membership in WBBL|09 and BBL|13 and last year over 3,000 members and fans were in attendance.
With additional support from Brown Property Group and the Victorian Government under the Small and Medium Events Program, the BBL Team will also participate in an open training session after meeting the fans.
“Last year’s event was such a resounding success and I want to extend our thanks to the City of Casey for their support of Family Day again in 2023,” said Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch.
“We’re also looking forward to hosting more WBBL matches at Casey Fields after returning this year for the first time since December 2018.”
City of Casey’s Chair of Administrators, Noelene Duff encouraged Casey families to save the date.
“The Melbourne Stars Family Day is proving to be a crowd favourite amongst our community, and with close to 3,000 cricket fans of all ages attending last year, we know this year is set to be another big event,” Ms Duff said.
“We’re pleased to deliver this fantastic event for our community that offers a wide variety of fun for the whole family and also provides a great opportunity for kids to discover their interest in cricket or test out their skills in the nets.
“Council is proud to continue our partnership with the Melbourne Stars as they grow their fan base and community initiatives in the south-east of Melbourne and inspire the next generation of cricket stars.”
