Melbourne Stars Captain Glenn Maxwell has suffered a broken leg in a freak accident on Saturday night.

Maxwell has undergone surgery on his fractured left fibula in Melbourne today. A timeline on his recovery will be known later this week.

General Manager Blair Crouch said:

“He will continue to be a key part of the club during the start of the season as he works his way back to full fitness and we look forward to seeing him soon.”
