Victorian Jono Merlo has been added to the Stars squad, after signing as a replacement player for Beau Webster.

Webster will miss the opening match of KFC BBL|13 due to commitments with the Prime Minister’s XI against Pakistan.

Merlo, who previously played for the Stars in BBL|08, returns to the club when he played 5 matches across two seasons.

“We’re looking forward to welcoming Jono back to the Melbourne Stars,” said Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch.

“He’s proven himself at the level and performed very well in our recent practice match against the Renegades.”

The Melbourne Stars play the first match of KFC BBL|13 on Thursday night against the Brisbane Heat at the Gabba.
