The Melbourne Stars has confirmed Pat Brown has been ruled out of the remaining KFC Big Bash League season.

The 21-year-old English quick has experienced a recurrence of back pain symptoms with a scan revealing a partial stress fracture.

Melbourne Stars List Manager Trent Woodhill said:

“It’s really disappointing for Pat. We were very excited to have him on board this season to replace Dale Steyn and it’s disappointing we won’t get to see him in action for the Stars.”

“It’s been great having him around the group and we’ve enjoyed welcoming him into the Stars family. We wish him a speedy recovery and hopefully we can work on seeing him in green in the future.”

The Stars will announce any further updates to their international roster in due course.
