The RMIT Melbourne Derby will see RMIT featured across the player tunnels for both the Stars and Renegades, ball kids and the creation of the RMIT Melbourne Derby Trophy.
One of the oldest education institutions in Melbourne, RMIT is a global university of technology, design and enterprise with campuses across the world.
RMIT is a world leader in Art and Design; Architecture; Education; Engineering; Development; Computer Science and Information Systems; Business and Management; and Communication and Media Studies.
“The first year of the Melbourne Cricket Education Academy has been a fabulous mix of sport, business and learning,” Mish Eastman, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Vocational Education and Vice-President at RMIT University said.
“It is a fantastic opportunity for students to get boots on the ground and we’ve seen them be embraced by the community at Cricket Victoria, Melbourne Renegades and Melbourne Stars.
“We are also excited to uncover the ways our researchers can help cricket in areas of sport, business, fan activation, health and more as this partnership grows.”
“RMIT is such a well-established Melbourne institution of education and with the global reach of cricket and the W/BBL we hope we can help them reach even more people around the world,” said Melbourne Stars General Manager Blair Crouch.
“Cricket Victoria and RMIT have a long and proud history, so to have a Melbourne institution on board for the Melbourne Derby is really exciting,” said Melbourne Renegades General Manager, James Rosengarten.
“It’s a very real rivalry this one, they’re our four biggest games of the year so to have RMIT across those games is really special. RMIT is a brand very befitting of the rivalry.”
