Mohammad Amir’s recent schedule has been hectic, with him playing in three T20 competitions in under a week. After five games with Derbyshire Falcons in the T20 Blast and the T20 World Cup 2024 with Pakistan, he joined Oval Invincibles for their opening match in The Hundred 2024 against Birmingham Phoenix.
Spencer Johnson’s Major League Cricket commitments delayed his joining the Invincibles, so Mohammad Amir was brought in for one game. Amir shined in this match, delivering 10 dot balls and taking 2-7 in his 15-ball spell, helping the defending champions start strong.
Following his stint in The Hundred, Amir headed to Canada to play for the Vancouver Knights in the Global T20 Canada. He debuted in the tournament two days after his London performance but was dismissed for a duck. He bowled two overs, conceding seven runs, as the Toronto Nationals chased their target with over five overs to spare.
In his second game for the Knights, Amir took one wicket but allowed 24 runs in four overs against Bangla Tigers Mississauga.
Meanwhile, the PCB has denied No Objection Certificates (NOCs) to other Pakistani players like Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam, preventing their participation in the GT20.
