Mr. Andile Mxenge has been appointed as the new CEO of Border Cricket.
Mr. Mxenge has a Masters Degree in Environmental Management, a BSc. Honours in Geography & Environmental Management, a Bachelor of Science Degree and has a strong business acumen.
He is no stranger to cricket, and played for Queens College and Dale College during his school career and in 1992 represented the S.A. U/15 on the England Tour (Played 3 tests and 2 one day internationals) and in 1995, played in the SA Invitation Team (Captain),Zone VI (Tanzania). He has also represented the SA Universities B Team and SA Country Districts.
President of Border Cricket, Simphiwe Ndzundzu said: “We are pleased to appoint Andile who has such a great passion and understanding of the game, and who will lead and manage all areas of the business, setting Border Cricket on a new and clear path”.
Ndzundzu also thanked Acting CEO, Stuart Fortuin for assisting in the position since January 2020.
New CEO, Mxenge said: “To be afforded this opportunity is humbling and a great honour. I Look forward to serving our region and to work with other key stakeholders in ensuring that our region and province is placed in its rightful place on the map of our country. We are known for being incubators of talent in the country and we must just make sure that talent remains in the region by creating an enabling environment for it to thrive”.
Mxenge’s appointment will commence from 1 January 2021
