The Surrey Cricket Foundation is looking for two new Trustees

The Surrey Cricket Foundation is widely viewed as county-leading in converting the intention of ‘cricket as a force for good’ into a reality. Our focus is on making cricket inclusive and accessible to all; inspiring and changing the lives of people across South London and Surrey.
The SCF keeps recreational cricket growing and thriving. We support communities, schools and clubs with funding, knowledge, coaching, and organised competitions. We have significantly grown women’s and girls’ cricket, we take cricket into state schools and underprivileged areas and help run disability, wheelchair and visually impaired cricket.
SCF brings energy and commitment to making a positive difference in our community and we have a strong ambition to keep growing our impact.

We are a charity operating alongside and supported by the Surrey County Cricket Club. Our funding comes from a variety of sources, including the ECB, corporate sponsors and donors, and events.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for two new Trustees to join our Board.

We are particularly looking for experience and expertise in the following areas :

• Fundraising
• Legal Expertise
• Education and Safeguarding

A passion for cricket is desirable, as is someone highly motivated to make a positive social impact. We place value on being collaborative and highly collegiate as well as being comfortable in all kinds of settings. Trustees are expected to be ambassadors for the SCF and act in keeping with our values and behaviours. A knowledge of and understanding of the widely varying communities across Surrey would be considered very helpful.

Time commitment
SCF holds a minimum of 6 half-day Board Meetings a year (held on weekdays and usually at the Oval). However, it is expected that Trustees will also contribute to sub-committees and working groups on various topics or workstreams.

This is a voluntary, unremunerated position.

Term time
The term is for 3 years, with the potential to extend up to a maximum of 9 years.

How to apply
To apply, please submit a CV and a cover letter, sharing your motivations for applying for the role and how you feel your skills and experience could be of benefit for the SCF. Please e-mail these to the Nomination Committee using the address cpotter@surreycricket.com.
We are keen to ensure that our Board reflects the communities we serve, and we are hoping for a diversity of applicants across age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, disability, marital status, religion, or belief.

If you wish to learn more about SCF please visit our website at https://www.surreycricketfoundation.org

The deadline for an application is Monday 29th July.

The Nomination Committee will then agree upon a list of candidates who will be invited to discuss the role and their candidature further with members of the Nomination Committee.
