This is a fixed-term role from September – March, with the possibility of a multi-year contract.

We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated and driven Assistant Coach to join our team.  This position provides a unique opportunity to put a variety of skills to use and help us produce WHITE FERNS through a balanced individual approach supported by consistent performing teams.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing assistant coaching support that contributes to the development, communication and implementation of whole season, campaign/format and training plans across the Female Performance Programme in both domestic cricket formats (Hallyburton-Johnston Shield and Super Smash).
  • In conjunction with the Head Coach, advise and support the ND Pathway & Talent Manager in the development of whole season playing and training plans across ND ‘A’ and Academy programmes that promotes alignment to our overall strategy and playing style.
  • Providing individual coaching and development to players within the performance programme.
  • Engaging as a key part of the formal reflections developed and communicated in line with whole season, campaign/format and training plans in alignment to NZC HP Agreement and ND Performance & Talent Strategy.
  • Effectively and consistently communicate plans across coaches, staff and players and support in the regular tracking and monitoring of performance against these.
  • Helping drive and embed a philosophy of player development and playing style for female cricket throughout our female performance and talent programmes.

As the successful candidate, you will have:

  • Ability to contribute, support and create clear strategic plans relating to cricket program delivery.
  • High level ability to drive self-reflection and reflection in others to ensure learning in both formal and informal settings. Competency in Microsoft Suite is essential.
  • Strong relationship building skills that promote effective communication and high-level emotional intelligence towards all key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated understanding and execution of pedagogy in relation to team and individual coaching.
  • Coaching qualification relevant to providing leadership in a professional domestic cricket programme.
